I know right? I'm nearsighted so I probably wouldn't lose a finger, but I darn sure can't be doing any driving without them. However I have to remove my glasses when chopping onions because they seem to trap the tear gas between the lenses and my face.

The worst is fishing, I can't hope to tie a knot without my specs, I don't need them for normal distance, so annoying every I get busted off having to retie the leader or change lures (first world problems) :-)

Have you ever tried using a knot-tying aid such as a wooden dowel that's maybe as big around as your finger. Get the knot started around the dowel then slide it off and tighten it? Maybe it would work. I have never tied fishing knots in my life, but I do a lot of sewing and such.

Even better, got me one of these. Fly fishos use them for tying tippets, but works a treat joining braid to mono/fluoro leaders. I tried the Daiwa knot tool as well, but this gives a much stronger knot.
