I heard Johnny Carson say that before Wayne expired he had written a thank you note to Carson for his gentle and gracious interaction with Wayne at the Academy Awards show where Carson had hosted. The note arrived within days of Wayne's passing.

I knew about the actors he repeatedly worked with, but not the behind-the-cameras aspect of it! Another star that had certain people he liked to work with was Clint Eastwood, starting with Albert Popwell in COOGAN'S BLUFF.

That looks like Ben Johnson, so, I'm guessing the movie is CHISUM?

Ben was in his cast, wasn't he?
