W. Kent Taylor had lived in Colorado, but he was from Louisville, Kentucky, where he managed a KFC when he came up for the concept of a Colorado themed restaurant. After his partner and him split ways, he got the idea for the Texas Road House. He found investors, and opened the first one in Clarksville, Indiana.
