I'm going off the top of my head... Hawkman is supposed to be an Egyptian prince, and somehow he and his wife get cursed. He has to watch her die each lifetime. After he dies, they are both reincarnated again, marry, and again she is killed. Rinse and repeat. They have powers, but that's all you need to know for the meme. :-)
