Ahh the old "If God is so good, why does he allow bad things to happen?" issue. One of the better answers I've encountered is "God gave us free will and doesn't want to rob us of it by stepping in whenever something goes wrong." Not sure if that's the correct answer, but it's better than "Don't ask questions, just have faith."

I'm a Christian, but I can understand why some people don't believe in God if there's no proof, but since science can't explain everything, there's still reason to consider the possibility of some kind of divine force.

A lot of people read the Bible and because they don't see miracles happening they say that God isn't real; the thing is that they're usually expecting a flash of lighting and for something to suddenly appear or something to suddenly change, but that's not how it works. Supposedly God could have transported the Israelites straight from Egypt to Canaan, but instead God had them wandering across the desert for 40 years, and provided them with food such as quails and manna, and water from a rock. It may sound far fetched, but these days you hear news stories about people surviving accidents against insurmountable odds, which often seems inexplicable from a scientific point of view, so is there some greater power at work in such situations?

well, you make good points, but I can argue. But I won't, because that would only make us dislike each other. So at this point, you respect my opinion, and I respect yours.

Yes I realise you could argue with my beliefs, but the Bible is only one perception of God, there's other texts such as the Torah and the Quran which give a different view.
Richard Dawkins published 'The God Delusion' in which he argues that there's no proof that God exists. People like myself are theological philosophers, in what might be called 'The God Conjecture;' we can't prove God exists, so we look at certain facts, and give our reasoning why we believe God is real.
Still you have your reasons not to believe, and I respect that, it's already been shown that Christians didn't have everything right, think of Galileo been opposed by the church for saying the sun was at the centre of the solar system, when in fact he was right, and the church was wrong.

G-D gave us free will and intelligence so we could learn to make better choices and not commit evil deeds.
