The entertainment value of drunks receded permanently on my second ambulance run. I won't usually even watch a movie or TV show where getting drunk?high is part of the premise.

I don't like the taste of most alcohol, but enjoy blackberry wine, and a few hard ciders. But I can drink half a bottle of 3% proof and I start feeling like I'm made of jello. I really don't enjoy the feeling lol. I did steal cigarettes though when I was a pre teen back in the days when they were right out in the checkout line, and I hide in the barn loft and smoke them. I was a bit addicted for a while, but realized it and quit cold turkey and never touched another one again. My parents would be horrified if they knew lol

I can have a beer then I'm buzzed. Two beers and I act like a moron. I smoked cigarettes for 15 years. I also quit cold turkey. That is one habit I do NOT miss!

Yeah the smell of cigarette smoke really bothers me now. I do miss cigars though. What I don't understand is how people afford to drink and smoke all the time. That stuff costs a lot of money. I can't make ends meet without it lol

The smell of cigarette smoke seriously makes me feel sick. That alone keeps me from ever starting back. They were up to $3.80 a pack when I quit back in 2005. I see the prices of them at the stores and I can't imagine paying those crazy prices.

I kid you not - some people would smoke a pack a day, $350 a week, that's more than I pay in rent!

THAT alone should deter people. Nicotine is a hell of a drug I guess!

I only got drunk once when I was 17, got real sick, passed out and slept on a concrete floor, then I had to travel home on the train the next morning covered in dry vomit - uggh! Never drank again!

A lot of alcoholics in my family, drug addicts too. I am definitely a black sheep in that regard. The feeling sick was plenty to deter me from making it a lifestyle.
