Passive and active voice are 2 different ways of talking, or writing. Passive voice is when the subject of the sentence is acted upon by the verb, and active voice is when the subject of the sentence is performing the action. The joke is the passive-aggressive voice part, which sounds like a compliment but really is an insult.
