This would be funnier if it hasn't actually happened to people in my life.

It’s actually happened?

Yup. High school friend--poor, innocent and naive--his first semester at Stanford. Very shy, thought he was just being a decent gentleman. Some guys learn the hard way. :(

How does holding a door open for someone count as harassment? I mean, unless she was all the way across the parking lot and he waited to open the door or something, it should mean literally nothing.

How do you avoid all the drama? An anonymous venture capitalist in Silicon Valley says he screens potenial hires for feminism on social media. Simple. If they get red flagged, then he doesn't hire them. He says its probably saved millions in legal fees and lawsuits because of the sheer size of his company. Its also inadvertently improved morale. May we all learn a lesson from this warrior!

Now that's someone with brain smarts AND street smarts. I'll probably send my resume to his company.

Has he been accused of discrimination a time or ten already? Ha.
2 ups, 7y
He remained anonymous. "No. Other courts have uniformly held that a person cannot have a subjective expectation of privacy in information that is shared with others in this way." That's a judicial quote regarding any/all views expressed on Facebook. People may regard it as political discrimination. But the courts view it as a digital privacy issue instead. --Basically Facebook doesn't protect your privacy. The government is fine with that. If you put anything on Facebook--normal rights don't apply. You are open season. Plain and simple.

Only 7% of women in the UK identify themselves as feminists. Are you saying that because the other 93% don't, it means they are automatically unable to defend themselves? Exactly how does that work? Lol.

I can't speak to whatever is going on in the UK, but in response to the guy in Silicon Valley... What would be his motivation to single out candidates who have anything feminist in their social media activities, other than to prioritize women who might not make waves when being sexually harassed? Does being a feminist automatically mean a woman will try to falsely accuse someone? I don't see the logic there. I think it's easier to weed out those who might defend themselves, than those who might be predators, just by sheer numbers...

Yeah, his reasoning probably is questionable in that regard. The real logic comes from factors like feminists hijacking workplace culture. Pushing agendas. Creating disharmony. Hyper sensitive workplace environments. Lawsuits based on salary. Blackmail. Etc. The list goes on. "3rd wave feminists" have blacklisted their own reputation.
2 ups, 7y
I guess I've never seen a feminist hijack anything in any of the places I've worked. Then again I don't work in tech. It just seems like a strange prerequisite but hey, companies make all sorts of judgements about us by our social media. People often forget that.

Years ago, I got a new job in furniture sales. The top one on the floor was this little Filipino woman. As soon as she realized I was good because my sales numbers quickly jumped up on her, she began accusing me. She told our boss that I offended her by sitting in chairs on my knees. Then, she claimed to be fearful of me because I crack my neck. Eventually, she brought her shrimpy husband and some giant into the job to intimidate me. While she was on suspension, she took a job with a competitor so, the job viewed that as her quitting. That's when she filled suit against me for 10K claiming that I ruined her ability to sleep, caused her to lose her job, and hit her with my butt. Females!!! (SMH)
