Nice meme. Senator McCarthy did die in disgrace. However most of those identified as communists in the probes he conducted were communists so not technically "innocent." Today we allow everyone their personal convictions. However the "blacklist" in Hollywood was not his work. It was a grim time and it remains instructive in the same way the Salem witch trials remain instructive-how increased hysteria and decreased respect for the rule of law can combine for tragic results. Ends can never justify those means.
