You know that the English tried to stamp out Gaelic as a language in Scotland, Ireland, Cornwall, Wales and the Isle of Mann. In older days using the language, especially to name children, was an act of defiance or almost rebellion. Today a unique name, if it didn't crush you in childhood, is cooler than it used to be.

It is cool, if you think about it. And unique. I knew a woman in Nevada named Sunshine. And a woman with a romantic father who named her Moonyeen. (Spellcheck is stumped by that one!) But no other Sunrises.
