seriously folks this irks me to know end. I mean "mustang" was called the pony car from the very beginning. The pony car came before the muscle car. Pony cars were small and meant to be fast. They were geared towards the younger car buyers. The muscle cars came after the pony cars. They are much bigger and more powerful.

I sometimes even put Mustangs in with muscle cars to avoid confusion. Trying to explain the difference between a muscle car and pony car to non car people is too much effort.
