This job ad I found.

There was an internal posting here for a lab tech. which I applied for. They prefer someone with two years of college... Which I don't have. We'll see if my 37 years of on the job experience is enough to get me in. I'm waiting two full weeks before I start bugging them.

Funny but true.

Lol. That's exactly why my degree went nowhere. I get out of school and they want a bachelor's degree, 4 years of experience, ability to run the latest drafting software, and only offer $9 an hour. And to top that off, most of the jobs were 4 to 6 month contract.

they probably wanted to hire a particular college senior, part-time, and wrote the ad so that person was the only 'qualified' applicant.
