I told my cousin that he should get a Chromebook (which I have) for college since you can save your work on the internet without a USB stick (and no, he's not an engineering student that needs Solidworks), but he concludes "there's not enough memory in it". So he spent $5000 of his parents money on a desktop that he'd never be able to carry out of his room.

If you have an old laptop around that will boot from USB and are willing to sacrifice to an experiment, check out "Arnold the Bat" on the internet. He has Chromium OS builds that will make an old laptop run like a Chromebook.

I installed Ubuntu on a 2012 HP laptop, so I'll see if he's into the idea if he's willing to adjust to Chrome OS from Apple OS X.
