I remember when I was new having trouble figuring out how to make meme comments with existing templates (other than the popular templates). Back then, I got some help from clinkster. If you want to use an existing template, I recommend first watching a YouTube video made by clinkster. (He's awesome. :) https://youtu.be/yknvAIBi5Lg You will need to know the name of the template you want to use. See if that works and let me know.

Second method. The other way to make a custom image meme comment is if you have your own image file or a web address of something you want to use (putting a web address in doesn't always work). It's almost the same as making a meme with your own images, but DON'T check the pop-up box that's highlighted in red. Checking the box when you are making a meme is fine, but it will kill the linking process when you are making a meme comment. I hope that helps!
