This might explain it. Apparently there have been quite a few front page memes that this has happened to. I think a lot of times they can fly under the radar, but once they hit the front page the mods take notice. It's probably because it had no added text. I've had the same problem. This has to be the mods, and not just troll downvoting. It's stupid though because they featured it and obviously other memers liked it enough to get it to page one imgflip.com/i/22awfk
