I don't doubt it. I see a lot of their pics on another site, which makes me ask, which came first, anime or k-pop.

Actually, K-Pop idols change their looks a lot for the era of their albums. Like BTS and the wings album. They all had a certain look until the wings ear ended a few days ago. I could probably give you an example if you want. But it is true that quite a few anime characters looks are based on a K-Pop idol. For example. Zero from the anime Vampire knight. A member of the K-Pop boy band VIXX looked just like Zero before Vampire Knight was released. I'm not sure exactly when he looked like Zero, but I know he dis because there is a good bit of proof of it. And I have some friends that have been into VIXX since before they debuted. (Bands announce their debute after becoming official.) I could ask one of them which member it was and when he looked like that

I can believe it. I go on Imgur a lot and see the Asian Idol pics posted there. Other celebs have had their bits, especially if you look at some of the long running series like Fairy Tail. Ichya reminded me of Donald Trump, even though the character was created long before Trump became president. There's another character in there that reminds me of Elvis.

I'm only just now getting into anime and manga. Took a long time to get there, but I wanted to see what my grand daughters were talking about. I haven't watched a lot of the mainstream stuff: Pokemon (season 1) is the closest I've come. Oh, and Inuyasha. I'm currently watching the Ancient Magus Bride, Konahana Kitan, Black Clover, and Star Blazers. I do notice a lot of similarities between the shows. Similar art style as strict as Disney was in the 40's, similar stereotype among the characters, like the tsundere character that always denies her feelings to the main lead (think Akane and Ranma in Ranma 1/2. Kirisaki to Ichijou in Nisekoi. Misika to Kamijou in the Index and Railgun series) the clueless male lead that irritates the tsundere by not realizing she cares for him. Oh, and every action adventure I've seen always has the same basic phrase repeated continually: "I'll do whatever it takes..." You find that a lot in the harem type shows.

overall, I'm liking what I see, but there are a few that I don't care for. No biggie, just a matter of taste. I still haven't seen every episode of Speed Racer, and I was around when that debuted back in the 60's

I'm pretty sure it was after their debute and in one of their album eras. But I might be wrong on the time. Im not a big fan of VIXX. But I know about them and see their pics all the time
