I can believe it. I go on Imgur a lot and see the Asian Idol pics posted there. Other celebs have had their bits, especially if you look at some of the long running series like Fairy Tail. Ichya reminded me of Donald Trump, even though the character was created long before Trump became president. There's another character in there that reminds me of Elvis.
I'm only just now getting into anime and manga. Took a long time to get there, but I wanted to see what my grand daughters were talking about. I haven't watched a lot of the mainstream stuff: Pokemon (season 1) is the closest I've come. Oh, and Inuyasha. I'm currently watching the Ancient Magus Bride, Konahana Kitan, Black Clover, and Star Blazers. I do notice a lot of similarities between the shows. Similar art style as strict as Disney was in the 40's, similar stereotype among the characters, like the tsundere character that always denies her feelings to the main lead (think Akane and Ranma in Ranma 1/2. Kirisaki to Ichijou in Nisekoi. Misika to Kamijou in the Index and Railgun series) the clueless male lead that irritates the tsundere by not realizing she cares for him. Oh, and every action adventure I've seen always has the same basic phrase repeated continually: "I'll do whatever it takes..." You find that a lot in the harem type shows.
overall, I'm liking what I see, but there are a few that I don't care for. No biggie, just a matter of taste. I still haven't seen every episode of Speed Racer, and I was around when that debuted back in the 60's
