I used to be in the Navy. One time I asked the captain if I could get something to eat from the kitchen down stairs. He looked at me seriously and said, "Mister, aboard this ship, something to eat is called "chow." We get it from the "galley" which is located "below deck." That's "aft" that's "stern" that's "port" that's "starboard."; "And if you don't start calling things on this ship by their right names, I'm going to throw you through one of those little round windows over there."
