Yes I did, saw the news yesterday. I'm pretty sure LIGO was another project my dad worked on. I think he contributed to the interferometry, I should ask him about it.

Well I asked. My dad was half of a two person consulting team to Rainer Weiss. My dad helped set up the vacuum leak detection on LIGO, his partner was on the software side. We talked about the 1.7 second delay between the gravity wave detection and the arrival of the gamma rays. I'm of the camp it's the dispersed matter between here and there, the actual refractive index of dirty space slows light down ever so slightly.

Doesn't light travel faster through matter like sound through water?

I just assume from what you're saying that the light came in on a bent trajectory. Presumably, gravity waves don't warp around major gravity wells.

Seriously though, I've spent alot of time intermingling myself with YouTube's algorithms, and i'm really starting to feel like a Borg drone. I feel like i'm being drawn into a gravity well where degrees of separation between humans are diminishing.

Thanks for asking... unfortunately, my understanding of postmodernism infers that there's a reality backlash from the temporary decrease in interpersonal factors of seperation between me and the translation of recent lightwave data.
