Yes, sort of. When the cats are closer to the laser pointer, it's also bright and moves quickly enough to look like a mouse. At least that's my thinking.
Capable of seeing a bird across your yard and vanquishing it. Can't spot the treats you put on the floor in front of her unless you point them out ten times.
