From 1956 to 1961, minimum wage was $1.00 an hour. A person could buy 5 Cheeseburgers for a buck. today, with minimum wage at $7.25, you can purchase 7 cheeseburgers for an hour's worth of work. They don't even offer a plain burger on the menu. A whole half a quarter-pound of beef, IIRC, their ads in the mid 60's.

I remember the 15 cent hamburgers up until I was 7 or 8. By then, the Big Macs were coming on the scene. By the time I was 10, though, burger, fries, &coke were just under a buck. I think, before Ray Croc bought them out, the McDonald brother's charged a dime for a burger.
