Can somebody tell me why the hell did they mute Jason on this album?

Hah, we had this convo on here a couple weeks ago with a couple other fans. I blame Bob Rock myself, he's ruined alot of great heavy bands, turns them into little prissy balad singing pussys, but that's just my opinion.

I agree on that one completely.The main reason I didn't like Metallica's self-titled album AKA "The Black Album" is because it sounds like a cheap copy of previous Metallica albums.Same goes for Bon Jovi,Aerosmith and tons of other cool bands he ruined,but it's not his fault entirely.Every band member agreed to work with Bob and that's how it happened

We used to have some pretty awesome heavy bands here in Canada, till Bob said "hey, I'll take you mainstreem, make you famous" he did just that and turned them poppy. Asshat. The there's The Tragically Hip, Gordie said for years he'd never let Bob Rock produce an album of theirs, never did for 25 years. One of Canadas greatest bands, they're not heavy, but f**kin awesome, not so popular stateside, cuz he never let Bob touch them, then finally they hired Bob on one of their last albums, I still haven't bought it. Unfortunately Gordie has brain cancer and they stopped recording, and last year was their final tour.

Damn,that's sad.I'll check then once in a while,so can you recommend me some songs/albums?I know a really cool Canadian band called Annihilator(and you,too,know,probably).Their debut,"Alice in Hell" is among the greatest albums I've ever listened to.Other than Annihilator,I don't know any metal band from Canada(but I know Rush and Three Days Grace,but they don't quite count as metal).Any recommendations(with songs/albums)?

Not alot of heavy bands but check out , Our Lady Peace, album Naveed '94 specifically song Starseed or album Clumsy, later on they let Bob produce, went soft. For the Hip, their earlier first 5 albums, Up to Here, Road Apples, all the way to Fully Completely were all really good. Gordie was a real Canadian poet, check out I'll be leavin' you, pretty much anything was good, or if you can find it, it's rare from their early early days, never officially on an album, Highway Girl live, Gordie goes into a little rant story, very good fun song, or Killer Whale Tank live. I seen them live 7 times, he used to go on these little story rants during songs, verry entertaining. Fun party band.
