Obama took everyone with him. Even the covfefe fetching guy. It's probably best he forms the team at a snail's pace. As a Canadian, i can tell you the American system is deliberately set up to be disfunctional to the point of near-total deadlock on purpose. It's not really a bad thing.
The scary mooch ("I am not here to suck my own dick! I'm here to serve my country!") was a clear signal that Trump expected loyal nationalists and was greeted with self interested 1%ers instead.
I was on the leftwing during the Obama years, and he was capable, yet so completely swamped with corporate shrills that the Democratic Party ended up splitting in two when his term started coming to a close.
The military's the only realistic option to actually drain the swamp, and they can probably be trusted to step back from power (eventually), since thier interests are irrevocably aligned with America's, anyway.
Besides which, it provides a contrast to Bernie who is obviously the favorite in 2020 (Although unemployment is below 5%, which suggests that those Goldman sacs folks were making the right move with the tax cuts... People doubted it would work, but those people never ran a business, IMHO)
