15th June 1990 (knight me knight me) : Jimmy Savile was knighted by 1990 Queen's Birthday Honours he was made a Knight Bachelor. 1st September 1990 : Sir Jimmy Savile received Papal knighthood by being made a Knight Commander of the Pontifical Equestrian Order of Saint Gregory the Great (KCSG) by Pope John Paul II
