I'm not sure about unions in Canada, but I presume that'd be a reason. I heard there were strikes at Toronto Airport lately.

The strike was for ground crews, Air Canada has a habit of late flights, rude staff, overall not very accomidating when it comes to delays and luggage and passangers' rights and cancelations. Westjet however, nice staff, accomodating, if you miss a connecting flight due to delays, they do everything for you and give you food vouchers, they've lost my luggage 3 times last year, the credits they gave me was damn near enough for a free flight, I'm not one of those guys who loses his shit when they lose your luggage, it's usually on the next flight, $150 a pop, and delivery, I've also bin upgraded a couple times, got free booze just cuz I flash a nice smile, bat my eyelashes and be alot nicer than some people. They did a Christmas gift give away one time last year I think, they asked customers leaving Toronto what they wanted for Christmas, whenn they landed in Winnipeg, all their gifts were there waiting. I wasnt on that flight, f**kers. They do all kinds of promo stuff like that. I had one bad experience once 2 months ago, 5 min.s late for boarding, bitch had an attitude at 6 am. So I sat in the bar till my flight at noon.

WestJet sounds like a good airline, similar to Southwest in the states. Maybe I'll fly them if I happen to visit Toronto.

And I can see why AC has a habit of tardiness; My inbound flight to Toronto sat on the tarmac for nearly an hour because they were having trouble with the air gate, and the Air Canada flight i took back to Los Angeles from Toronto-Pearson was delayed 2 hours, because the inbound flight was late and there was a lot of traffic on the tarmac. Luckily it was a 5 hour layover, so I had time to pass customs but damn.

Pearson is always a nightmare...

I thought Toronto-Pearson was a very nice and modern airport, especially when compared to LAX.

I havnt flown Air Canada in years, and with good reason.

Lol I was flying internationally, and it was a free flight, so yeah. I was sleeping and the flight attendant rudely woke me up during meal service and just threw the special meal I ordered in my lap. Not to mention that the plane was delayed after landing because they were having issues with the gate.

No wonder they were cranky

I was flying from Tel Aviv, and it was really hot on the day we flew out, so yeah probably.
