the template you chose is the least likely meme to make it there. using the default text options cause many people to just automatically down vote it because it ends up being too difficult to read. HINT:unclick the font shadow box, select a smaller font, like Arial or since it's a comic, Comic Sans. also, anonymous posts don't make it to front page lately

You'll find that most of us are pretty friendly and don't mind helping others out. I have been called a pompous ass because I can be blunt. but then, the person followed my advice and ended up on Page One within a couple of days. And he's been there a few more times since then. It took me almost a year to make page one. but I get there a few times a month. I don't have a lot of tips based on your submissions, but I can try.

If you use any template like the above one that uses speech balloons, don't use the default font settings. the reason is it makes the meme easier to read. don't be afraid to use old jokes. half of the joke memes that make front page are old jokes with a fresh approach. The most popular meme on page one this year was the old Pete and Repeat joke that was old before I started school. It's was so popular because it was given a fresh approach. No, I didn't make it. there are many good meme makers here. Another hint, watch for the folks in the leader boards. study their memes and GIFs. you'll find out that a lot of them are very helpful. build a fan base by making positive comments that relate to a meme. Need ideas for memes? Old joke books can be a source of those pieces of gold.

I don't understand this site's mechanics at all. Even stuff I submit doesn't show up in the "Latest" section as far as I can tell. One time I had a bit of success--I think it was second page.

don't fret. I was the king of page three for a long time. couldn't get past it. I do see a trend that could keep you out: the focus is too much on politics.The art of political humor has died since I was your age. My friend focuses on political and social issues, too. I told her not to expect much here, but use it to make memes for other political pages, which she does. Remember, you're dealing with a world audience. If you want page one, you'll have to play for that world audience.
