If we really think the media across the spectrum is not about creating a narrative and creating sensation to drive revenue but actually assume they are "pursuing truth" we have really dangerously deluded ourselves. In an age when objective truth has gone out of style, we are left with spin and sizzle and no bizzle.
Reporting facts ? I just walked into a store that had CNN on the TV and this is the brilliant statement I heard , "I don't agree with the Facts" ! That was from a congressman who was , of course , criticizing President Trump and was too stupid to understand what he was saying . "I DON'T AGREE WITH THE FACTS" ? ? ?
lol, that's a guest and not the network. And how about Trump's own Counselor/spokeswoman who notoriously said "there are alternative facts", then the White House defended her ridiculous statement as has she...
Still sitting here , drinking coffee and having a bagel , as CNN is now defending their guests statement the same way you are . I agree that "Fake News" is a misnomer , it's not what they say , it's what they choose not to say .
I don't disagree that all media are guilty of omission at times. That goes for Fox News as well which might as well be called Trump Propaganda Network. But when irrefutable facts are presented, we can't just dismiss them because we don't like a given source. The truth speaks for itself, and our President's words and actions speak volumes.
