I think it's more likely that once you start getting memes in the first few pages of Hot, it will draw attention to your profile, and you'll start getting more upvotes (not downvotes). I'm pretty sure that's how it usually works.

Unless you're actively being a dick to people on the site (or unless you're a popular user, who seem to get attacked for no reason), there's no reason for you to think people will come after you with downvotes.

PS - I didn't upvote this meme, because I think it's stupid when people make dumb shit up about the site.
