Submarine firing torpedo

Yessir, I was quite the screw up during my brief tenure aboard the USS Toledo SSN 769 back in March/April 1998. It got to the point where I was ostracized by the crew and nearly drove me to total insanity and suicide. That was, by far, the worst time of my life. But hey, I asked for it. I was the one who joined the U.S. Navy. I was the one who volunteered for submarine service. I was the one who wanted to be a big hero.

I still remember some of the names. Commander W.R. Burke. Senior Chief Chenier. Chief Fresquez. Chief Durst. Machinist's Mate First Class Jean. God, I'll never forget Chief Fresquez. He was just like Uncle Jesse.

That looks just like the kid from my Nuclear Field Machinist's Mate "A" School from 20 years ago at NNPTC in Orlando, Florida. I struggled just make it through that. Then came Nuclear Power School. I only lasted 6 weeks out of a 6 month program. I bet that damn kid never even took notes. lol
