Even if that is your argument it is still a false cause if you think their religion sent them to prison. Many people "get religion" after being incarcerated. Out of the people who were religious before incarceration, how many do you suppose were nominal in the practice of their faith? Take those who claim to be Christian, that means they were Christians in name only. They did not live what they claimed to be. The bible calls that a false convert.
Again even if religious people go to prison or convicts get religion in prison, are you trying to generalize all religion as bad or faulty because of those facts? That is bad logic.
