You're on your way. I went through your profile and your memes have improved from when you first started. Good Job! Standard advice: Start commenting on others memes to build a decent fanbase. You'll discover, while commenting, that you may say something that sparks an idea for a meme. Example? Today, I sat down without an idea of what to post. Saw a couple notifications, and while discussing a meme I'd made, the commenter made a great remark. BAM! that gave me an idea for one meme directly, and the train of thought gave me 4 more on the same basic theme. From one comment I got today's posts and 2 of tomorrows posts.

Good step: replying to comments. You'll find many long time users that are willing to help. Even Raydog, at the #1 position on the all time leaderboard, will give advice. (I'm only at #41, but I've only been on that board a couple months)

Making memes? It's simpler for some than others. Quick tips to help you (you may want to print this out)

DashHope has a Meme Stream ( https://imgflip.com/m/needameme ) that provides non-standard meme templates to use and inspire. Check that out when you have time. a couple people have made Page One with those.

Google funny pics. You'd be surprised how many funny pics that will inspire you to make a meme.

Make memes that a majority of people can relate with. I do a lot of marriage ones because I was married for 38 years. Most people can relate because they are married, were married, or know someone that has been married. Obscure topics don't do well.

Use joke books or online joke sites to come up with ideas. I do that often, and, while I rarely come up with a brand new joke, I do find some old chestnuts that fit the meme format well.

Meme making: When using google to make a meme, start with a subject (see relateable memes above) Look for the joke that can work. Next, with a more refined subject to match the joke, do an image search to see if you can find a good match to the joke. Sometimes it's a standard "bad pun ------" template that works. I've created three templates that do well and that others use.

Try to keep your memes light toned when possible. Don't make mean memes.

Avoid politics unless your meme can be found humorous by followers of both sides. If you think there's a lot of those here, already, imagine how many either never featured due to TOS violations, or worse, were featured and downvoted back into submissions because it ticked off too many people.

Look forward to more and better memes from you.

As Swiggy was saying, if you check top users' profiles, you will see a high comment to meme ratio. RayDog has 26K comments (hard to imagine!) and 1.4K memes. Almost 20:1 ratio! Making good memes is a key but being involved is the differentiator. Not everyone has time to make tons of comments but should try, and make replies to comments on your meme and comment on front page and latest memes. Commenting on the front page does tend to get more upvotes. Good luck!

You're right on that one, howbowdahhhhhh. Go to his profile and you'll see that the creations (meme comments mostly) that's listed on the leaderboard is about 6K less than the actual comments he makes. My comments to memes are a bit over 10:1. Also, since starting this account last November, the number of memes I've liked (versus comments) is a bit over 17K. I'll often upvote all the comments on a meme when I'm having a good time. It makes other users feel good, and and gives them a reason to comment.

You're doing good, yourself. Two weeks here, and passed 40K. Your comments are better than 10:1 over featured memes. Went through and found I'd only seen a few of yours to upvote. In all, a couple meh so no vote, one downvote (don't feel bad. Expect it with some political memes) but the rest got upvoted. On the negative and neutrals, I try to be fair. It's not you, but the meme itself. Do you have any idea how many of my early memes got no upvotes and worse, got downvoted back into submitted. The Mehs that didn't get votes either way? School related, not targeted to me because I assume that guy is one of your teachers. The good news is that there are plenty that were worth upvoting.

You're doing a damn good job, otherwise you wouldn't be where you're at. Another day or two, I expect to see your "Thanks for 50K points" meme pop up. You're averaging a bit over 3K points a day (about less than me, but then, two weeks. DAMN GOOD!!!) By the end of July, at this rate, you should easily hit 100K. And you notice that there's support for good memes.

Sure thing. My only access to imgflip for over a year was with my cell phone. I only just hooked up internet in May with my computer. Now that I have my computer back online, I can even do graphic manipulations again. Here's a sample of that:
