I'm in Northern Indiana. In 2007, Gas prices rarely dropped under $3. By 2008, they topped $4. I should have said 9 years ago and would have been accurate. Same with 2011, 2012, and 2013. In 2014, prices started coming down because OPEC was dumping cheap oil on us. The renewable energy programs brought those prices down to their lowest point in 9 years as well. Now that cheap gas prices have put the energy efficiency vehicles on the back burner, the prices have been on the rise. Not a steep spike, like in '08, but up a dime, down a nickel, up a dime, down a nickle. Having gotten my license during the Arab Oil Embargo in the 70's, I've watched how gas prices can tank our general economy.
