No kidding, I like fresh memes on current events, but I'm afraid to make political comments and be trolled into oblivion

I started on here as almost completely a political memer, but after I found people more interested in flaming me for my opinions instead of giving me a reasoned argument I decided to hang out with the funny people. I've dipped my toe back in the roiling waters recently, but only because recent events make such rich material. I've been trolled before but except for a couple instances the trolls tended to disappear when I ignored them.

You're right about the rich material! I think Imgflip'ers in general are fairly civil. I really like looking at "Latest" memes that don't get so many upvotes. There are some funny people on this site!

When I started on the site about two-and-a-half years ago the people in the political areas could be angry and mean, but to be honest I could be pushed into poking tigers for reactions. :) But recently several of the worst political trolls have disappeared from imgflip. The tone is more civil, but I think part of that is the recent 'rich material' has shut up some of the most belligerent political screamers.
