I'll have internet hooked up by Friday, so I'll be able to do my graphics and GIFs again. Like the Lantern. Gives me an idea on my take.

Great sparkles!

Actually, I've been doing this on my phone since I joined. Actually be able to access my files on the computer and manipulate will be great!

I'm limited, too. Fortunately, I don't know what I can't do, so much if the time, I do it.

No, a computer is the best way to go. I have some graphics programs that will let me do my photo editing better than I can here.

I'll have to ask you guys for pointers with graphics.

One Usenet group I frequented got the bug for "messings" years ago. We started by swapping pics. One guy posted his pic and somebody complained that you couldn't do anything with a headshot. I removed his head from the pic, put it on the torso af a topless buxom maid, then had him swing back and forth and have the boobs swing along. It was either 4 or 6 frames but it got the point across. Right now, with imgflip I can do a bad luck Donald Trump if I need, but I really prefer using my computer for things like that. You'll understand as we teach about raster layers. Once you understand those, it's easy.

I looked up raster layers. In your example it looks like you manipulated three layers (original ad, face, and hat) with possibly a layer for the lapel or the girl's hand because they seem to overlap the face.

Good eye. Exactly what I did. One item worth remembering is to feather your cutouts.when I first cut my head out, I saved it as a transparent background file so I could drop it in anywhere and time I wanted to. I put the head on that blank background, used the magic that snags all of the adjoining colors, and selected the blank background. Before selecting that, though, I used the feather option, set, IIRC at three pixels. The selection went three pixels in and I hit delete about three times. This softened the edges giving me a better looking stock pic without much, if any, debris from the original background.

Okay, had to re-read that a few times to understand. It allows the face and hat to blend in better, eliminating any artifacts from the original cutout's background.

I have been really creative with my phone but running into limits.

That's right. I learned a lot about graphic manipulation, including making animated GIFs from still pictures. I just shared this with Craziness_all the_way.

This is a Halloween video I did a few years back that incorporates stills and animated GIFs. Every animation started as a still picture. There are others on my channel and I suspect I'll add some more in the future. I'd put the animations aside because i really didn't have any place to showcase them.
