I think you're a bit younger than me, but I remember Pat Paulson's Presidential run in '68. Racial tensions were still high and I grew up hearing the same "We oughta send the damn #######s back to Africa!" Rhetoric that had resounded for generations. Paulson was the only one to face that issue head on by saying he'd send all the blacks back to Africa, the Asians back to Asia, and the whites back to Europe. His political commentary was smart, stinging, and always made you stop and say "huh" and think.
