First, I ask, what part of the Bible do you not believe? Second, what kind of proof do you require to "prove the Bible?"

How about ANY actual evidence to support the existence of ANY god or creator.

You're understanding of science is juvenile. "Science" itself is not something to prove or disprove. Your mistake is rooted in the fact that you treat science as an antithesis to faith.

Science is based on evidence. Religion is based purely on faith. You can prove that ice is less dense than water. It floats. Every time. That's science. Religion or faith is fine, and one can believe in a god and still know science. But to accept the bble as absolute fact, literally, is to reject science.

I said prove the bible. A scientific theory can be disproven, through observation or experiment. While a scientific theory cannot be "proven" it can be accepted as valid if it stands up to ALL experimentation and observation. But if one is to claim that god made the world in 7 days, you'll have to prove that. With evidence. LOTS of it.

I see two possibilities for the creation of all matter: Either some entity outside the constraints of matter created it, or the matter created itself. Both options are equally mind blowing. There is evidence, not proof, but evidence of key "supernatural" claims made in the Bible. If those events are possible, then a God who created everything could have the results look like what ever He wanted in whatever amount of time. Also, it is important to know that being a Christian does not require you to believe the literal reading of Genesis. As I stated in my previous comment, I understand why you have your objections and I too have bogged myself down with trying to find holes in the Bible instead of trying to drop my bias and see what truth the cumulative evidence leads me to. You may be interested in the site CrossExamined.org. I wish you well my friend, thank you for the conversation, it has helped me.

Not all religion is "based purely on faith." To be specific, Christians are NOT called to have blind faith. While faith is an important element to Christianity, it is not blind faith. I use to have the same conclusion as you regarding religion and faith. Then I started to truly seek the truth and found that the Bible actually warns us against having "blind faith" and left many fingerprints for us to discover to support faith. While there is not one single piece that PROVES the claims of the Bible, the CUMULATIVE evidence is too great to ignore. Regardless, I understand where you're coming from and had the same thoughts and still have doubts in many areas. I truly wish you well and hope that you too will discover some of the cumulative evidence that allows me to have faith that isn't blind.

You evidently didn't check out the website in my other comment, CrossExamined.org. You seem more interested in making a snide response rather than trying to find information.

Awesome! That site has some interesting things to help change perspective. If you're interested I'd check out the book "cold case Christianity." In the mean time, you could also look at the site http://pleaseconvinceme.com.
