I spoke to Inferno a few weeks ago, he got locked out of his main account and never really bothered after that, in his own words, "things were getting cringy". Kanola will drop a random comment here and there but she's way gone. The front page has gotten very topical and can often be peppered with inside jokes from the users(I kind of find those real eyerolley)
Yeah, in the shortest of terms, many of the top users have decided to take charge of how imgflip is being run, designating theme weeks and troll patrols and rules etc. I think they have the best interests at heart and I don't fault anyone for trying to make something fun even better, but yeah, it hasn't exactly been going over well with everyone, so a lot of people have left. But even back in 2014 we had similar stuff, people trying to call the shots when they were not necessarily theirs to call(remember that long thread were people were going to decide who the next mods would he, ha, what a joke!), people taking this site WAY to seriously, there are just a hell of a lot more people here now so its gotten much bigger in that effect.
Like I said, I've stuck around but I do miss a lot of those users like yourself and a list of others. Things change, that's life right.
Your stuff was always good, you should try and drop a meme or two here and there, just for the hell of it.
