OK except about the revenue part... that could be a legal issue. I don't know anything about Android development, I've played around with iOS before. Xamarin (sp?) has an environment that can build a .net app for both iOS and Android (code once, deploy to both). I was going to expand on my Windows desktop app but I'm not sure I'll ever get around to it... put it as a system tray icon, provide notifications, follow other memers, mentions (if a meme/comment mentions your username), maybe a better search (full-text) on memes and comments, private messaging, etc. The API that is exposed is quite limited, but if that's all you need in terms of functionality, then it makes sense to use it. I used "screen scraping" techniques to access the list of users own memes to back up.
