If only we could articulate the difference that teaching makes. I guess that is the challenge of education as a discipline, which isn't about how people happen to learn but about how learning is enabled in specific organisations, relationships and arrangements that we make as a mass society, and within which we trust teachers to prepare young people for an uncertain future.
