"War is a Racket" is a book you should read. Every death by any government is done for the profit of a person or corporation. Youll notice that every craft, land, sea, or air, built for the military comes from private industry. The food consumed, the uniforms worn, etc, is all provided by private industry.
That's just military actions. Remove the profit motive, and what have you got? Lockheed isn't going to build a plane for cost. Johnson and Johnson is not going to provide bandages at cost.
