I was on a good mood this morning when I was upvoting. I can point to others I ignored for the same reason you cite. Reposts. So why did I upvote this? Because it's an old joke I had not heard in a long time. I had not seen the other posts, and I'm on here a lot. I upvote the first instance I see something that I like.
It's entertainment. Much better than many of the posts I see here. Why do you think the same template was used each time? Probably someone passing around a meme on Facebook or 9Gag, or any number of other sites where the imgflip logo isn't.
I think I'd rather see reposts of funny stuff than some of the posts that get featured.
Did you see my front page GIF the other day? <a href="https://imgflip.com/gif/1kj6uf"><img src="https://i.imgflip.com/1kj6uf.gif" title="made at imgflip.com"/></a>
That's what it was about. If all of the garbage posts were eliminated, then people might not have to wade through so much crap to discover it's a repost.
Go through my posts and you'll see stiff that's been posted elsewhere. You'll even see "original" posts that are nothing more than jokes I heard more than a half century ago. If a me.e has hit its saturation point, it won't get more than a few views, maybe an upvote.
If you have a complaint about a repost, take it up with the person reposting it, but not the person that laughed at it.
