Twitter and Tumblr have the link with the picture if people are interested. Facebook, OTOH, you have to click through. If they're a member of imgflip, they can vote on it, but even if not, it registers the views. I urge my friends and family to join to upvote. Eventually they will join, if they hadn't already. I point out that accounts are free. Self promotion.
Those are three I use, although there's Pinterest and Reddit.
Also, you can use the embed codes on other social media sites, including gamer sites. It gave me the jump start I needed to get this far. If they leave a comment, a lot of people will stop and view the comments. And, speaking of comments, I know I always stress upvoting and leaving comments if you like someone else's meme. You can rest assured it helps you, especially if you're a good commenter. People notice, and respond to, top commenters (more points) and you build a rapport with other users. Comments are listed in the order they were posted. Even if I don't get to front page with a meme, I'm on many of the comments there. Occasionally, even the top comment. People see my name and wonder about my memes since my comments are generally witty, and when I get into a meme off, that sends the views and upvotes right to my own memes. If you're looking for points and social status on this site, be sociable. You see some names above that hit front page on a regular basis. They comment on my memes, I comment on theirs. Not out of trying to garner points, but because I liked their memes. I was paid a high complement from TammyFaye when I added a panel to one of her memes. I took a good joke and bumped it up a step by adding that panel and the word yes. Hilarious, right. Nope. Not if she didn't have a solid joke to play off of. I even apologized saying it was the only way I could get my comment to work.
Other things that meme offs do is allows you to come up with good ideas for your own memes. If you have a good, stand alone meme in a meme off, don't be afraid to use it. But you gotta be sharp. This is the first social group I've been in where I'm evenly matched. I've actually had people complain because they couldn't keep up with my wit. But then, they were half wits.
