"Tard" is just a nickname. It's short for Tarder Sauce.

No problem. Ibhad justvrwad up on her a week or so ago and was reminded of her name. She has a brother and they both have feline dwarfism combined with that classic under bite. Still, they are actually loveable cats.

My cats, OTOH, are just pure evil.

Cats are both angel and devil rolled up into one loveable little package, methinks :-) I had little calico kitty with white chest and boots, undersized from too many days abandoned in a dumpster. I climbed in and got her out of there .. it was minus 29 here celcius at the time .. my new coat got destroyed in the process...

...but she was worth it. We named her Dido, and it was *the* right name. She beat the snot out of a Jack Russell Terrier that had killed cats bigger than her.

Oh, man was she mean -- and she loved tripping my dad up :-) but she would wait for me to come home from work at the top of the stairs :-)... and we'd play-fight for hours.

I had her for 18 years. After four or so years, I still miss the little shit. One of a kind, she was ..

I had an older cat given to me last year. She was standoffish at first, very proper cat. She got out and disappeared last summer. She was gone for 6 weeks. She came home the day after my birthday but the time away did something. Vet couldn't find anything wrong other than malnourishment, but 9 days later, she passed away. The two girls I have now are kittens. And much as I love them, they drive me crazy. Noisy loves to tear down curtains while Pearl likes to get in the say when I'm on imgflip. She was just trying to keep me from finishing this paragraph, but after I petted her, she went over to their dish for kitty kibble.

:-( sorry to hear about the older kitty...cats will hide when they're ill..my Dido disappeared for three days, very unlike her. I spent the entire three days hunting for her and found her hiding under a bush during a downpour.

It turned out that she was ill and was hiding. Shortly after I brought her back in the house, she attempted to stand up, then collapsed. I hydrated her through the night and got her into the vet first thing in the morning. Turned out she has a gastrointestinal infection and that if I had waited any longer she would have died.

A few days and nine hundred bucks later, on IV antibiotics, and she was ready to come home...but I still had to pill her for two more weeks after that. Oh, what fun. She was feeling well enough to turn both of my arms into road maps, and she terrorized my dad for a few years after that. :-)

...funny as hell... I'd be downstairs studying or something or other, and I'd hear a MEOWWWW!!!! ... a stumble... then my dad yelling CAAAATTTT!!!!

Other funny thing was, is that until Dido, Dad HATED cats ... but he loved her.... and when she disappeared, he was looking for her, too. Dad could be a cantankerous old coot, but he met his match with Dido, and when I wasn't around, she'd be taking a nap with him.
