I just got tired of feeling like a pawn for either political party who's main goal is to divide and conquer to stay in power!

Thanks, friends on both sides of the aisle have things I can agree on and some I don't. Some say they vote for the Party not the person, am I the only one that thinks that sounds Orwellian? imgflip.com/i/17erky. Wasn't a 60's acid dropping radical, too young LOL but this quote always made me, well, think.

I'm pretty much center-left. I mostly vote Democratic candidates but voted for the Republican candidate for Secretary of State here in Oregon this last time around mainly because the Democrat was a hack and kept appealing to 'progressive' voters despite the SoS position being a non-political position basically (and I wasn't the only one, the Republican won a statewide position for the first time in over 15 years). Anyway, as I always tell people on here, I'm a 'classical' liberal, which doesn't mean I'm a lefty but that I believe in the autonomy of the individual but also that I believe in free trade, open markets, and globalisation.

FALCON'S RIGHT YOU KNOW THAT IS INDEED A GOOD APPROACH TO POLITICS | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
Non-Republican and Democrat party candidates, on the same presidential ballot, never get to participate in national debates aired on every news and local networks.

Why?

I actually researched that to find out who sets the debate rules, short story is the debate committee members are Republicans and Democrats. They took over when the League of Women Voters pulled out in 1988, so the two parties set the 15% in polls rule. That makes it impossible for a third party to grow in my opinion because they don't get covered or exposure on the debate stage. Wikipedia the Commission for Presidential Debates. I'm not craping on anyone's political beliefs, just saying for me personally I feel I've wised up a little and don't like being played.
