[image deleted]Not a single person on election day voted FOR Trump or Clinton (or any other candidate). They voted FOR the slate of electors for the party. And while you can assume their intent, legally it has no bearing as the votes were not cast for those candidates directly.
Popular vote nationally is 100% irrelevant. Only popular vote within each state matters, with the winner in each state receiving the electoral votes from that state (if the electors vote as selected).
System ain't broke and works perfectly (not just for this election, but for all elections past). Don't break it.
