I define Chivalry as a man acting Gentlemanly, perhaps Gallant... especially to a Lady. There was a time in recent History when a man would feel a certain dignity in giving up his place in line to a woman who might even be a stranger. When Knighthood was in Flower a Knight might give up his life to save a woman's life. These acts of honor and kindness would be their own reward. To further clarify, I often opening the door for a Lady at the Post Office (I did today.). Sometime I do that for a man or someone older. When I have dinner I get up from my seat and pull out a Lady's chair when the lady joins me at a table. The idea is the civil kindness of making another human being feel special. I must thank you for asking. It helped me realize how important and beautiful this trait that I was taught by my family really is. Thank You. -Vince Vance

FOR THE MURDER OF CHIVALRY | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
you have that so nicely written and i kind of feel like the guy telling a kid there's no santa. i'll try to keep my points short.

the thing about how knights were chivalrous is a bit off. i will just say that what we think chivalry would be for them now is very different than what it really was then. BUT what chivalry became is good. this isn't my main point though.

there is a lot of blame to go around for the death of chivalry.. laziness .. indifference.. bad parenting.. culture or the lack of culture etc. feminism gets a good deal of the blame. what was once an act of chivalry is now demeaning to women. i have had women yell at me for opening a door for them. it doesn't take that happening too many times before a person throws their hands up and say enough. it has just become too much of a headache to try to act chivalrous to people who don't want to be treated that way.

please understand i don't trip old men so i can get their seat or slam the door behind me if i see an older woman coming. i open doors for older folks. i'll help a woman across the street. i just try to treat people the way i would want to be treated

Their are sweet women living who don't have to put down a man in order to prove they are Steel Magnolias. Your femme fatales don't sound too "femme." The seem so politically correct that maybe you might consider moving down South. At least down here you don't have your balls sliced off by a woman with one slash of her tongue from 50 paces -just 'cause you opened a door. YIPES! LOL

i'm not trying to be a jerk. in fact i agree with the meme. it's just that chivalry has different meanings to different people.
