Dr. Lyn Dilisi, professor of psychiatry at Harvard university, lead the research team on the study, and determined that marijuana use does not cause schizophrenia. If, however, the person already has schizophrenia, it will exacerbate the condition.
In response to this, scientists in Israel have developed a strain of cannabis that has a reduced amount of THC, while increasing the CBD content.
At this point, medical marijuana seems to be more beneficial than current pharmaceuticals for various treatments.
