lol I saw it last night. It had some neat parts, but was mostly garbage, as expected. And yeah the spoiler you showed me is accurate. :{D

I've been watching some youtube reviews of it. Most of the stuff I've seen talks about how the acting isn't very good, and the way the characters are introduced makes it difficult to emotionally invest in them.

The things people seem to like are Darth Vader. the final battle, and the references to Rebels and A New Hope.

Yeah I really hate how people like Vader as if he's cool. I like the character and I'm glad it was resolved in ROTJ, but I don't wish I was him or think he's cool. Dude is a child murdering traitor.

And I've seen some negative reviews too. which is weird since it is better than TFA. But they're right, you can't get attached to anyone. K-2SO was about the only one I felt anything over. I hated Cassian(Diego Luna's character). He's a real douchebag.

The parts I liked were the space battles. They actually digitally used Red and Gold Leaders from ANH in the cockpits.

But man was it ever a diversity quota film. There wasn't a single American white male main character. Not one.

The whole movie is filled with EU rip offs, but the one that made me both mad and glad was the death of Saw. It was totally a reference to Chewie's death in the novels. :{

That sounds pretty cool about putting X-wing fighter pilots from ANH into the battle scenes.

That aspect of seeing how the moviemakers handled the issue of making a movie with a similar timeline (and therefore look) to A New Hope is one of the things that makes me curious to see it.

They didn't waste the opportunity to propagandize it though.

One of the planets is a desert planet name Jedha(like Jeddah in Suadia Arabia). Now to be fair, they did that because Lucas used several Middle Eastern city names for planets(Kuat, Felucia, Mygeeto), but when Disney does it, it's for the promotion of Muslim culture.

They have Jyn wearing the scarf over her head, there are aliens wearing Burkas, the evil Empire(like the US) shows up in their tanks, and terrorists take out the Empire.

It was so cringe worthy.

But still, there was more in this one that I liked than TFA. So maybe Disney is listening to people who hate the new movies? :{O

So apart from the propaganda and the bad writing/acting with the characters, what other things made it like watching a car wreck? :)

That you knew all these people you don't know or care about were going to die? :{O

LOL! Exactly! The way Diego Luna spoke with an accent too. And other than Leia and the two cgi pilots, there weren't any American accents that I could remember. :{
