We are a land of refugees, and this makes us stronger.

Imagine had our forefathers all stayed in their homelands, sending only their wives and children to carve out new lives here. When one has nothing, what can they do to fight. Cannon fodder is all they would be.

The Syrian refugees situation is completely different than the founding of America. Your comment is irrelevant.

Then why even let their women and children come here? The men wouldn't be able to support them, and the family would carry that hatred of America here.

I said refugees should ONLY be women, kids, and the elderly. I didn't say ANY refugees should be allowed here. You missed the point of my meme.

So why should these people that also hate America be allowed here? Its coming across like a talking point without much knowledge on the subject.

I'm thinking of refugees that came here in my lifetime and trying to compare the logic. Remember the Vietnamese refugees that came here in the 70s. Woyld you have told them to go back to Vietnam, the adult men, and fight the government? Same with the refugees from Cuba. Actually, on that last bit, some did, as the Bay of Pigs invassion showed. Currently, we have refugees coming here from Guatamala and points South to escape the corruption that their countries are involved in. So ignorant (not stupid, just uneducated) they don't even try to go to a US embassy to see asylum and get refugee status.

The Syrian men that should have stayed and fought? They've already done so, making sure their families got to safety. That safety will not be complete until they are lodged in communities that will accept them. Then what? This is the time period needed to train them because as sure as the sun rises and sets, we will have a world war the Middle East, and we will want soldiers that have more than just "book knowledge" about the area for both covert and overt operations. That's why we need them here to turn their hate of America, if any, into hate against the terrorists. Something that should be easy as their enemy destroyed their peaceful lives. The day when WWIII occurs, our country will use those refugees and their adult children in such operations. Don't think so? How many units that invaded Italy during WWII were only a generation or two away from those lands. Scratch the troops in Germany and find out how many Muellers, Schultzes, and Hoffmeyers were there.

We have, at best, 15 years to prepare these men. Meantime, as the fighting settles down, we can allow whatever dictator to destroy the country from within.

I'm against taking in SYRIAN refugees. Apparently I needed to spell that out for you. Just because you disagree doesn't mean it's a "talking point" or that I don't have "knowledge" on the subject.

And no, the women and children have not all gotten to safety. I know of a Syrian refugee who left his mother and sisters behind in Syria to come here. My meme is about how able bodied men should be staying in Syria and shouldn't be running away and able to enter as refugees. Don't agree? Feel free to f**k off.

We've allowed able bodied men from around the world to seek refuge here. Even my Irish ancestors had a problem with acceptance in this country.

So if you don't want to deal with dissenting opinion, post it where it is more along the line of your ideology. Facebook has tons of political pages, on the right and on the left, private and public.

Also, for what you're general complaint, of able bodied men going back and fighting, my question would be how? Not to argue, but let's look at what you're proposing. Send the able bodied men back to Syria to fight the terrorists. How? Once you got them there, even, how would they fight them? Are you going to arm them and if so, how. And train them? The terrorists have been training for decades, often on our dime. Bin Laden was trained by the CIA to fight against the Soviets. We know how well that turned out. Of course, unlike the Soviets, the enemy is someone they have a common bond: Islam. Be interesting to see how brother against brother turns out.
