i have a crazy idea. since we need electors that are willing to be faithless but not electors who will change their vote for minor reasons, make it a criminal offense to be a faithless elector. there are 20+/- states that have laws against being a faithless elector and i think breaking that law carries a $500 fine. as crazy as it sounds a 1 month mandatory jail sentence maybe a better solution. nobody wants to go to jail but if the elector is convinced that what they pledged to vote for is a tyrant they should be willing to do whatever they have to do to convince others.
