No in real science and the globe model the air density affects light and how far we can see. Even on the globe you would be able to see further objects if the air wasn't so dense. It's a weird thing about the atmosphere.

I'm a huge fan of Pascal's Wager and Occam's Razor. First being what do you have to lose believing in God and the second being the simplest explanation tends to be the most likely. God is literally the simplest explanation for existence.
